I can’t believe it’s November already! Last thing I knew it was April and the start of the wedding season, then BLINK and we’re at the tail end. Whew!
Krista and Chris must be good friends with someone important, because their wedding day was perfect for an outdoor ceremony on the patio of the Grandview. A bit cool, but comfortable with a shawl or light jacket. With the foliage still clinging to the trees across the river, we enjoyed the last of autumn’s splendor.
Krista and Chris chose an interesting twist on their colors, a sort of spring-meets-fall feeling, with pink, blue and red floral arrangements on the tables to match the burgundy bridesmaids dresses and table linens. Casey, the Grandview’s pastry chef, did another excellent job with the four-tiered cake (I swear I’ve seen over twenty different, distinct designs over the past year, and all of them beautiful!) decorated with faux autumn leaves.
COOL FAVOR IDEA: Krista and her bridesmaids made coasters as favors for their guests, tile squares stenciled with leaf patterns and the newlyweds’ names and wedding date.
The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Everything†by Michael Buble, and if the rhythm of their choreographed dance was a bit off, they made up for it by not taking their eyes off each other. Krista gazed up at her much taller husband, smiling the whole time.
The Grandview completely spoiled us again, with colossal shrimp appetizers and their attentive service. Sometimes it feels like we’re guests, too! Not to mention the fact that we worked with our good friends Cheryl Bolton-Reuter and Mike and Jenn Walker from Beautiful Memories video. It’s like family…only we like them. (Kidding. Only kidding.)
One of my favorite moments was watching Chris and one of his groomsmen dance around each other to the “Humpty Dance,†shaking their legs and straightening their ties as they sang every word.
We ended the night with “I Finally Found Someone,†by Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams, which also happened to be our previous couple, Debbie and Gregg’s first dance song from almost four years ago. There were familiar faces among the guests as we relived the memories.
Krista and Chris are off to Turks and Caicos for their honeymoon. Thanks for inviting us to celebrate with your family again, guys!
