The cocktail hour was filled with an eclectic mix of rock and latin artists like Santana, Buena Vista Social Club, David Gray and Led Zeppelin. Guests of all ages complimented the couple’s selections.
As lovely as the ceremony was, it is the reception that stands out the most for me. Peggy was amazing! She hit the dance floor with the first song and didn’t leave the entire night. Literally. She twisted to the Beatles, leapt across the room singing every word to Springsteen’s “Rosalita,” and sang and danced her heart out to her name sake songs, “Peggy Sue” and “Pretty Peggy-o.”
Watching Peggy dance with such enthusiasm and energy just filled my heart with happiness.
COOL DETAILS: Music lovers Peggy and Chris named their tables after their favorite artists: Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Kiss and AC/DC among them. Sunflowers and daisies made up Peggy’s bouquet.
Both Peggy’s father and Chris’ mother had passed away, so they faced the challenging task of remembering them on their wedding day without reducing everyone to tears. Peggy dedicated “The Black Velvet Band” to her father, and Chris dedicated, “Take Me Home, Country Road” by John Denver to his mom. It was a sentimental, fitting tribute that balanced remembering their loved ones without bringing the party down.
By now the newlyweds are off to their Italian honeymoon. Thanks for having us, guys. You were amazing!
