The couple was married on the green before a birch wedding canopy draped with pink and peach-orange roses that Dave had designed himself. Rose was absolutely stunning, an Italian beauty in her strapless gown and diamond tiara.
The Victorian ballroom was gorgeous by candlelight, with multiple arrangements of pink and peach roses and white hydrangeas at each table. Guests received favors of chocolate-covered pretzels (along with a surprise that was even more impressive that the newlyweds delivered at the end of the night.) Gorgeous engagement photos of Dave and Rose were displayed on a table in the ballroom.
The night was full of delightful surprises! The Best Man introduced the newlyweds into the room, and I read the hysterical, sweet love letters they had written for each other. Then we revealed the song Dave had picked as a first dance, a surprise for Rose: “Lady” by Kenny Rogers.
Rose confessed to me that she pretty much took apart the Highlands’ menu and put it back together, assembling a delicious feast of courses. Well, her choices were phenomenal because they guests cleared their plates and our hostess, Adrienne, did a seamless job of serving them.
Dave and Rose invited their guests outside for a spectacular sparkler photo op after the cake. With Maggie Heinzel Neel on photos, I can’t wait to see them! Check out this beautiful slideshow of pictures from Maggie Heinzel-Neel!
I absolutely adore the Victorian country elegance of the Highlands. Dave and Rose, thanks so much for inviting us to the celebration!
