Inn at Stone Ridge Wedding: Lauren and Rick

10.1.11  Lauren and Rick’s wedding at the charming Inn at Stone Ridge was a country autumn paradise.  Laid back, fun and beautiful.

Lauren was escorted to the ceremony on the arms of her mother and father, beautiful and fresh faced with her blue eyes sparkling

The Details

The bridesmaids wore lovely mauve dresses and carried flowers of deep red and fuschia.  The groomsmen wore gray suits and Vans sneakers.

The tent was strung with lights (hung by Rick!) and the tables had white and gray linens with candle filled lanterns in the center of each, adding a country feel.  Each guest received caramel apple favors.  Lauren did an amazing job putting together the centerpieces, wrapping the favors, and making the photo scrap book and parchment place seatings herself.

The Toasts

The Best Man, Rick’s younger brother, led a moving speech about how he was finally able to catch up with his big brother, nine years his senior.  His toast ended with, “To infinity and beyond!”

The Maid of Honor told the story of meeting Lauren over 20 years ago when they were only in first grade.  She was crying; Lauren took her hand and told her she would be her friend, and they were inseparable ever since.

Lauren’s father shared the time he went shopping for a prom dress with his daughter when she was in high school.  “She changed into this beautiful sea foam dress with sparkles.  She went in a young girl, and came out a woman.”  It was the same that day, he explained, seeing her in another dress, this time her wedding gown.

The Music

Rick was in charge of the music.  He chose “You’re the Best” by Joe Esposito for the bridal party’s entrance, and “She’s Everything” by Brad Paisley as their first dance, a surprise for Lauren.  Excellent choice!

Autumn Desserts

Instead of a wedding cake, Rick and Lauren had wedding pies, the most delicious pumpkin and apple pies!  It was perfect for the chilly autumn night, and the aroma left mouths watering.  (Yes, I broke my “no wedding cake” rule…because this was wedding pie.  Yum!)

We worked in many of Rick and Lauren’s country favorites during dinner, including Zac Brown and Kenny Chesney.  They certainly danced up a storm!

This was a country chic, gorgeous Hudson Valley wedding for sure.  Thanks for inviting us!
