10.2.11 I think we knew half the guests at Jen and Justin’s wedding at Le Chambord in Hopewell Junction, NY. What a pleasure! It was like celebrating with our own family and friends.
Jen and Justin were married under the pavilion out back by a retired judge and family friend. I loved watching Justin wait at the end of the aisle for Jen to appear. She was gorgeous, and gave him a small smile that said everything. He gently took her arm and
escorted her to the arbor.
The bridesmaids wore beautiful deep red gowns and carried white rose bouquets. The tables had Le Chambord’s antique candelabras, and each plate had a bar of chocolate placed on it as a favor for the guests. The cake was an amazing four tiered beauty adorned with red and white roses. (Annette’s cakes at Le Chambord are to die for!)
The newlyweds made their entrance to “I Got You (I Feel Good)” by James Brown, and before their first dance, I read the love letters they’d written to each other. They both told the story of their first meeting at a birthday party, how their love grew at a Christmas party, and finally their first date when Jen slipped on a puddle and Justin’s
chivalrous behavior stole her heart.
Justin held Jen close for their first dance to “By Your Side” by Sade, and I imagined the room was disappearing around them, they were so lost in each other.
Can I share my favorite moments? A few of them: watching Justin and Jen dance to “Nyah Love,” and “Hypnotize” by Notorious B.I.G; the soul train line to Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up;” fist pumping on the dance floor for “Party Rock Anthem.”
It was a pleasure catching up with friends old and new, remembering parties of the past and making new memories. Jen and Justin, you guys are the cream of the crop. Thanks for inviting us to be a part of your day!
